Attractive work time models
Dr. Wolff have introduced the model of confidential working hours. We trust that our employees fulfil the contractually agreed work time quota independently and on their own responsibility. Unfortunately, this model is not possible for employees who are working fixed shifts due to operational requirements.
In many companies the discussion who gets their day off on bridge days is a fight true to the motto “first come, first served”. Not so with us: We have always time off on bridge days and don’t have to fight with our colleagues over the long weekends. We work a few minutes longer every day and can therefore look forward to additional days off.
Company restaurant & free fruit and drink supply
Our in-house chefs prepare fresh & balanced meals every day. In addition to a salad and dessert bar, they offer a selection of up to three dishes for a few euros. A special appetizer is the employer allowance for lunch. Vegetarians are catered for as well as meat and fish lovers. In summer, there is a regular barbecue buffet – in winter, there will be additional soups and hearty stews. Dr. Wolff also provides their employees with free drinking water and coffee specialties as well as tea. Fresh fruit is also provided.
Transport connections and parking spaces
Our employees have free parking spaces for cars, bicycles and motorcycles at all locations, so that no time and nerves are wasted in the morning looking for a parking space. The nearest city train stop is also only a few minutes’ walk away and even the train station is within walking distance.

With us, every employee has enough “space” to develop, because we mainly work in single and double offices. Almost every office room is equipped with air conditioning, among other Things.

Company sport for 25 years
In 1993, the cornerstone for our current company sport was laid at Dr. Wolff. At the beginning, this offer consisted of our football teams, which were able to assert themselves successfully against regional companies such as Stadtwerke, Dr. Oetker, Miele and Schüco – and this is still the case today.
In 2011, the company sport was expanded to include one of the fastest growing trend sports in Europe: dragon boat racing. Our “Alpecin Pirates” spend time on water with a great deal of team spirit and passion.
For those employees who prefer to do sports in the dry, we offer discounted conditions and shortened membership term in a nearby gym.
When the weather is fine, our sports marketing department regularly invites employees to take part in joint road bike rides – to be participated in and enjoyed by everyone. You “only” have a Dutch bike? No problem. The professional equipment is provided by the team.
Company pension scheme
As a supplement to the statutory pension scheme, we participate in the company pension scheme for our employees to ensure their secure future. Dr. Wolff offers a deferred compensation model within the framework of a direct insurance policy or a chemicals pension fund, which we support with a subsidy. We take care of the formalities and the transfer of the dues as an employer.
Tariff remuneration & additional payments
As a matter of principle, we comply with the collective wage agreement of the chemical industry and its conditions. In addition to the monthly salary, our employees receive a Christmas bonus and additional vacation pay.
Company medical care
Our company physicians take care of the occupational health care of our employees. In addition to legally required occupational health and safety examinations, employees can, for example, take part in flu vaccinations.
Continuing education and training
Training and education have always been firmly anchored at Dr. Wolff. The beginnings of the training system date back to the 1950s: Starting with seminars in the private homes of Dr. Kurt Wolff and his wife Doris Wolff, numerous training centres were soon established in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Even today, the great importance attached to knowledge transfer has not changed. A visible expression of this is the Dr. Wolff Institute in Bielefeld, where training courses, congresses and symposia are held. But also our extensive further education program is proof that training is part of our corporate philosophy.
Our employees have access to a comprehensive personnel development program for personal and professional progress: From comprehensive English and German language programs to the employee program and management training. You can look forward to internal and external training opportunities that are tailored to you and your personal needs.
As an internationally operating company, we attach great importance to international and intercultural communication. Our employees can choose from a wide range of courses, both subject-specific and topic-specific.
In 2019, a special employee program was set up for the first time, in which our staff is invited to attend 1 - 1 ½ training days per quarter to discover new content on topics such as "change management", "presentation and moderation", "project management" and much more.
In the course of an intensive, multi-year program, our managers are trained in leadership by experienced coaches. They learn how to organise their daily management routine effectively and efficiently and to expand their methodological competence.
Digitisation has entered almost all areas of life and does not stop at learning with Dr. Wolff. We use Digital Learning to effectively impart new knowledge to employees in this way. We have our own platform for this: the Dr. Wolff Academy.
Not only the know-how of the individual employees is important to us - the transfer of know-how within the teams is also actively encouraged. We therefore regularly offer knowledge sessions on specific topics – organised by employees for employees.
